The story behind Interview Success

I started my career in a recruitment agency, before spending the next ten years working in Human Resources, primarily focussing on recruitment across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. During this time, I recruited for two US Corporations and a global insurance company, reviewing thousands of CVs and interviewing hundreds of candidates.

However, I kept noticing the same problem: Many of the applicants struggled to sell themselves on their CV and during interviews. This meant it took me a huge amount of time to review CVs, shortlist candidates for interview and fill the vacancies, simply because candidates didn’t know how to demonstrate their experience.

Although this was frustrating for me as a recruiter, it also had a negative impact on many people, who were well qualified but underselling themselves on their CV or in their interview answers, meaning many people felt “stuck” as I wasn’t allowed to provide sufficiently detailed interview feedback to help candidates improve in case they sued the company!

Interview Success – teaching you how to sell your skills

I set up Interview Success to provide a CV writing and interview coaching service to train managers and professionals to demonstrate the skills needed to secure and thrive in their chosen career. Having spent years training managers how to interview and select the best candidates, I now teach candidates how to improve their interview skills. I have always loved helping people, so this combines my skills and passions.

At Interview Success I deliver one-to-one coaching / training, this is more effective than group training as it identifies your individual development areas, teaches you how to improve these, and provides detailed feedback on your performance. Whilst working in HR, I wrote and delivered a range of training courses, which contained an overview of a broad topic. This meant that only a small portion of the training course was relevant to each attendee, attendees needed to recognise which parts of the training were as relevant to them, apply the knowledge and monitor their own performance, many people find this difficult.

How Interview Success has evolved

Since setting up Interview Success in 2015, I have helped hundreds of clients to recognise their skills, find their next role, change their career path, develop their confidence, obtain their dream roles and attain promotions. Many of my clients struggled for years before seeking my help, and have been offered the best roles of their careers within weeks of my help. It is incredibly rewarding to have helped so many people to further their career.

Over the years, it’s been lovely to develop relationships with many clients who return each time they are seeking promotion or progression. Interview Success has grown through recommendation, as customers recommend me to their friends and colleagues. As Interview Success has grown I’ve added more services such as career coaching packages to support people seeking a career change, supporting people through redundancy, resuming their career after a career break, as well as the popular personal branding package.
