I started my career in a recruitment agency, before spending the next ten years working in Human Resources, primarily focussing on recruitment across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. During this time, I recruited for two US Corporations and a global insurance company, reviewing thousands of CVs and interviewing hundreds of candidates.
However, I kept noticing the same problem: Many of the candidates struggled to sell themselves on their CV and during interviews.
Teaching you how to sell yourself on your CV and during interviews
A recruiter can only hire a candidate who demonstrate the skills they are looking for on their CV and during their interview answers. As a recruiter, it was frustrating to spend 90 mins interviewing a candidate to find they couldn’t provide the evidence required to offer them the role. The candidates had the expertise, but didn’t know how to demonstrate this, so I had to source and interview more candidates.
Many applicants must have felt stuck with no idea why they weren’t receiving many interview invitations, or were having lots of interviews, but few job offers when they had the required skills and experience. Most companies do not allow HR professionals to provide the detailed feedback which candidates need to improve in case the candidate sues the company. I’ve always loved helping people, so I set up Interview Success to provide a CV writing and interview coaching service to train managers and professionals to demonstrate the skills needed to secure and thrive in their chosen career. Having spent years training managers how to interview and select the best candidates, I now teach candidates how to improve their interview skills.
Whilst working in HR, I wrote and delivered a range of training courses, however I felt group training courses weren’t an effective way for most people to learn. Group courses contain a general overview of a broad topic, which means only a small portion of the course is relevant to each attendee. At Interview Success I deliver one-to-one coaching / training which is far more effective as it identifies your development areas and teaches you how to improve these whilst leaving out the irrelevant information.
How Interview Success has evolved
Since setting up Interview Success in 2015, I have helped hundreds of clients to recognise their skills, find their next role, change their career path, develop their confidence, obtain their dream roles and attain promotions. Many of my clients struggled for years before seeking my help, and have been offered the best roles of their careers within weeks of my help.
It’s lovely to have developed relationships with so many clients who return each time they are seeking promotion or progression, many of whom have also recommended me to their friends and colleagues.
